Welcome to the site Lisa

The first thing you need to-do is easy … open up your favourite word processor program and start writing.

As far as copyright goes, it’s different from country to country.

In the United States:
“Copyright law does not protect recipes that are mere listings of ingredients. Nor does it protect other mere listings of ingredients such as those found in formulas, compounds, or prescriptions. Copyright protection may, however, extend to substantial literary expression—a description, explanation, or illustration, for example—that accompanies a recipe or formula or to a combination of recipes, as in a cookbook.”

If you don’t live in the US just call whatever office handles copyright and they should be able to tell you about how copyright applies to recipes.
