You’ll find it difficult just to set the dimensions in Word, not to mention you’ll never get a professional looking cover even if you get things set-up OK. There are many free and inexpensive programs that will do a better job for you. GIMP is free and Adobe offers 30 day free trails on programs like Photoshop.
